As you may know, September is basically the month of fashion – last week was fashion week here in New York City, and the September issue of Vogue is always the biggest and best one of the year. So it makes perfect sense that the theme of this months KnitCrate would be none other than the fitting theme of “Couture”! As a fashion designer myself, I am totally into it
Making it’s KnitCrate debut this month is a “Lorna’s Laces” yarn, the first time this well-known luxury yarn brand of yarn has been featured! Included is 2 hanks of their Haymarket yarn in the “Lookbook” colorway, a 100% Bluefaced Leicester Wool, with 215 yards per 100 gram skein. It is very soft, and would be the perfect yarn for felting if that is your thing!
This variegated yarn has lovely shades of dusty pink, dark purple, navy, and mustard. These colors feel reminiscent of Autumn leaves and have me excited about the coming season
2 cowl pattern are included this month, both by designer Christine Marie Chen. The beginner cowl in the “Westgate Cowl“, and the Intermediate/Advanced option is the “Rocky Canyon Cowl“. Both designs feature interesting textures which showcase the color variegations of this yarn.
The fun extra this month a cute little photo holder that says “Someone Really Loves Ewe” by Etsy shop Think Pray Gift. It has a cute little sheep on it – this would be fun to have at home or to gift to a child to put in their room You can find more from this Esty shop here.
If you would like this box, you can get it by becoming a KnitCrate subscriber by the end of this month!
